چکیده

The influence of different semi-natural surroundings adjacent to apple orchards on the occurrence predatory syrphids and biological control Aphis pomi Deg. Dysaphis plantaginea Pass. was compared. Two methods catching hoverflies were used: yellow traps collect adults hand picking get larvae from aphid colonies. A total 1029 Syrphidae (26 species belonging 14 genera) subfamily Syrphinae collected in Moericke their boundaries. At all sites, a much greater number (638 specimens) than (391 specimens). In orchards, 134 10 reared A. D. both cases, dominants Episyrphus balteatus (Deg.) Eupeodes corollae (Fabr.), Syrphus vitripennis Meig. S. scripta (L.), suggesting that are attracted by plants flowering habitats vicinity orchard, they then migrate orchard reduce results confirmed positive natural conservation predators.

Predators of the rosy apple aphid, Dysaphis plantaginea (Pass.), in Asturian (NW Spain) apple orchards

Alternative strategies to the common practice of spraying with insecticide in order to control the rosy apple aphid Dysaphis plantaginea (Pass.) (Homoptera: Aphididae) are required. Biological control by natural enemies is a possible tool. In Asturies, despite the tradition of growing local cider apple trees, there are no studies about the community of D. plantaginea predators and their impact ...

Natural enemies of woolly apple aphid (Hemiptera: Aphididae) in Washington State.

Woolly apple aphid, Eriosoma lanigerum (Hausmann), has become a pest of increasing importance in Washington apple orchards in the past decade. The increase in aphid outbreaks appears to be associated with changes in pesticide programs and disruption of biological control. We sampled woolly apple aphid colonies in central Washington apple orchards for natural enemies of this pest from 2006 to 2...
